Welcome to Miss Lenau's art blog!
This month I will be starting a new classroom blog for our November art unit! This blog is an exciting way for parents to connect to what their child is learning in our art unit. The blog will include resources you and your child will be able to investigate to further the knowledge of each artist we will be studying as well as each element of art. Each lesson will provide your child with a new element of art (line, color, texture, space, form) as well as exposure to 5 of the most influential artist of modern times.
The artist’s include Alexander Calder, Andy Goldsworthy, Charley Harper, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol.
Once each piece has been created we will have our own small Artprize! Each student will judge which piece they would like to present. All of the students will be able to vote on three pieces. After a week, the top three will be narrowed down. The winner’s piece will hang in the front office framed and matted! Please encourage your child to try their hardest in the weeks to come. I’m sure the students will have fun and learn how important art and artists are to our community!
The first week of our class art unit will be devoted to learning the elements of art. There are five elements we'll be going over in the next few weeks. They include LINE, COLOR, TEXTURE, FORM/SHAPE, and SPACE. In our first lesson I will explain to the students about what they will working towards, our Artprize!
This website will provide the learner with additional resources to further their knowledge on the elements we are learning!
